How We Teach

The Proven Method

Unlike many other tutoring companies, we personalise all our learning

Our tutors are local experts in one-to-one, face-to-face, and online tuition, from primary to KS3, and soon, GCSE to A-Levels. They’ll draw out the strengths in your child, understand how your child learns best, and work towards achieving the results you’re targeting for your child.

We thoroughly interview our core and extended tutoring team, and only choose those who know their subject inside-and-out, and present it in an engaging way.  Many of our referred tutors have worked with us professionally in Independent, Government and Academy schools.

We offer face-to-face tutoring and the convenience of online tutoring,

All lessons are engaging, interactive and followed up with homework (Some parents opt for no homework, which is okay too!)

Pupils we recommend tutoring for:

  • The child/teen who needs preparation for SATs, 11+, 13+, and GCSE.

  • The child/teen who needs academic stretching. They are ready, but aren’t receiving the individual attention they need in a large class.

  • The ambitious teenager seeking to improve their chances of achieving a place in their top choice University.

  • The child needing support to narrow the learning gap with their peers.

  • The child who just loves knowledge and is always hungry to learn more.

  • The under-confident child who needs the guidance to draw on and develop their own skills and talents.

Our Teaching Method

  • Curriculum

We will draw upon the appropriate UK curriculum your child is following at their school, or present them with the curriculum of the school you wish them to attend.

  • A Learning Objective

Each lesson begins with a targeted learning objective that the child understands and is clear about. This targeted learning objective is informed by our previous knowledge of your child, and their progression from each tutoring session.

  • Differentiation and Challenge

We challenge your child by differentiating our lessons from familiar, to new learning; learning they have previously been successful with, to work that will stretch them to greater understanding.

  • Continual Review

We will continually review your child’s knowledge to check that they have achieved each learning objective.

  • Encouragement

We will encourage your child all the way, and make them feel proud of their efforts.

  • Follow-Up

Follow-up homework will reflect exactly what your child has been learning in the lesson. If you would prefer not to have homework, just let your tutor know. We will also let you know what has been covered in the lesson, and any vital information to help you guide your child’s learning improvement.
