About the Buckinghamshire Secondary Transfer Test
The Buckinghamshire 11+ exam is taken by all children attending Buckinghamshire primary schools automatically. Those applying from outside the area must register separately. The test is provided by GL Assessment and consists of two one-hour multiple-choice papers covering:
- Verbal reasoning (English comprehension, grammar, spelling, and logical reasoning with words and numbers)
- Mathematical reasoning (Key Stage 2 maths curriculum)
- Non-verbal and spatial reasoning (problem-solving with shapes and patterns)
The pass mark is a standardised score of 121 or above.
